I believe that I read somewhere Chambers
offered an optional grill cover. Does any
one have one and if so can you post pictures
of it.
I would like to see what they look like.
Thanks Pokey

Pokey,
These came with my Chambers.... I was told at the time that it was believed to be a griddle cover... I do not know... I also got these other 2 items with Addie... I have no idea what they are either....

I got one of those griddle covers too, but mine's a bit rusty so I just haven't used it.
Those other items are, of course, tea strainers. In the old days tea did not come in convenient flow-thru bags, you had to strain it manually. Most tea strainers are small for single servings, but some had to be larger for instance to make tea for a large party. I'd say you could probably make tea for twenty with those strainers. You can still buy loose tea, in the tea and coffee aisle of your local grocery.

Looks like a griddle cover to me. And you also have the "As Seen on TV" Popell "Flame Tamer". Back in the old days, many ranges had cheap crummy burners and the pots and pans were made of thin metal. Food would burn and stick on the bottom of these cheap pans. Some genious came out with the flame tamers to even out the flame pattern to try to keep Madam from burning the cornmeal mush. You put them under the pan, between the burner and the pan.

Here is a photo of my stainless griddle cover, that I love dearly. It protects my griddle and hides any laziness on my part scrubbing the griddle. I have also included a photo of my fantastic new flat griddle.

What a great looking set. This made me do a search on EBay. Does anyone know if this would work? What are the dimensions of the griddle?

The original griddle cover sold by CHAMBERS was a stainless steel affair with what appears to be asbestos-covered-by-cardboard underneath. We don't use ours.
I have seen a new space-age type material for sale in Harriet Carter's magazine that looks an awful lot like it would do the job (it's even stainless-steel looking) and has no asbestos. Apparently, it is designed and made in such as way as to be able to handle the heat. They sell them for the purpose of being able to put hot pots and pans on the counter without damaging it, as I recall. The only problem is that it is not big enough to cover the griddle.
I am going to try to find that material somewhere else and see if it comes in a size big enough to function as a grill cover, or can be cut down.
BTW - the other items shown above are aftermarket heat diffusers - not sure, but I don't think CHAMBERS ever sold them, on account of how well the daisy burners do their job.
